Water Quality Tests

Macro Graph

The graph shows that we had 2 kinds of somewhat tolerant insects, and one kind of tolerant. In our intolerant macro was the May fly and we found seven of them. We found two types of somewhat tolerant macros. Those two are the dragon fly larva, we found seven of those. There was beetle larva, we found two of them. That is all that we found in our site.

Stuff We Found At The Creek

Friday, May 16, 2008

This is the stuff we found at Douglas Creek and what we did. It was really fun when we found the snake and the salamander and the beaver pelvis. We know the snake was a bull snake and we are not sure what kind of salamander we found. We are sure it was a salamander because it was shiny and if it was a lizard you would be able to see the scales. It was cool when we got the owl pellets because we got to dissect them and find lots of bones. That way we could try to find out what the owl had for dinner.

Description

SITE#1ANDY NOLAN KYRA AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST DALTON 5/7/08
I’m going to tell you why site#1 is so awesome. First we are going to tell you about the riparian zone. The riparian zone at site one has abundant of grasses and shrubs and trees. Also there is a lot of trees there but our overhead canopy is 0-25%.
Next we will tell you about the channel. Our shape section looks like a U. The longitudinal pattern is braided. There is a low gradient at our site another thing found at site is stream banks.
Our vegetation is abundant. The artificial bank is 0-25% and there was erosion in some areas.
Next I will tell you about our reach habitat. We had two riffles and they covered 25% of our stream. We also had two pools and that cover 50% of our stream. The woody debris was abundant. The only thing we had was a beaver dam. As one can see we told you all about site #1 at Douglas Creek. We are all out of data so I hope you will visit Douglas Creek.
